Imagine: Free, high quality courses that are never cancelled, never fill up, and support lifelong learning and personal growth on over 300 topics. Now Library cardholders have access to a learning resource called ed2go. These instructor led online courses are available from your home or office — at whatever times are most convenient for you.
As part of our Accelerate Your Career event on April 20th, staff are offering one hour orientations to this exciting new service. Offered at 10:30, 1:00 and 3:00, these sessions will introduce you to ed2go, its registration process, and the kind of courses offered.
Courses may be accessed through the Library's E-Library link from it's homepage, under the heading of Social Sciences and Education, or by clicking on the ed2go link on the left hand side under Recommended Resources. On the first page, you will find a step by step guide, along with an FAQ to answer some of the most common questions. Course offerings are on topics such as:
Resume Writing & Job Searching • Personal Finance • Creative Writing & Memoir Writing • Website & Graphic Design • Test Preparation • Grant Writing • Computer Skills & Programming • Accounting & Business Skills • Digital Photography • Genealogy Research • Gardening
175 Expert instructors develop, lead, and interact with students in each course, which run for six weeks (with a two-week grace period at the end). Courses are project oriented and include lessons, quizzes, hands-on assignments, discussion boards, supplementary links, and a final exam.
