Here are some of the special events going on this August long weekend.
Calgary Public Library has some great programs on Saturday, August 4th.
Super Summer Drop-in Family Storytime - Join us for a super-sized summer storytime with 45 minutes of stories, songs, and fingerplays. Presented by Cenovus Energy. Ages 2 to 5 with a parent/caregiver. No registration required.
Chess in the Library - On Saturday, August 4th, at Village Square Library join members of the Calgary Chess Club and Calgary Junior Chess Club for the opportunity to play chess, supported by coaching. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Registration Not Required.
We'll be closed Sunday and Monday so don't forget to pick up your books and DVDs on Saturday!
Other venues are offering Heritage Day celebrations.
Heritage Day Festival - On Monday, August 6th, there will be a Heritage Day Festival at Prince's Island Park, from 12-6 pm. Free Admission.



Fort Calgary - Celebrate Heritage Day on Monday August 6th from 11-4 at Fort Calgary. Enjoy live music, magic shows at 12:00 noon and 1:30 pm, and visit live horses from the Fort Calgary Wheel and Runner Association and more. Free Admission.
Cochrane Ranche Days Festival - Don’t miss Cochrane Ranche Days Festival on August 4-5, at the Cochrane Ranche Historic Site. Enjoy a free two day celebration of the Cochrane Ranche's 131st birthday. There will be wagon rides, pony rides, and cowboy culture activities and much more.
