Live at the Library - U of C's Creative Writing Student Gala

by Philip Rivard - 0 Comment(s)

On Wednesday April 27th the Central library will host the annual end of year student reading for U of C's creative writing students. Calgary's best up-and-coming writers will take over the John Dutton Theatre for a rapid fire delivery of their best short work and there will be plenty of room in the theatre for you to join us.

Any one is welcome!

While the Gala is a celebration of term's end, it is also a chance for these promising writers to get a taste of public reading. Truth is most of these students are well-practiced public speakers and this event's unique setup of squeezing in over 100 readers in one night, featuring a gong-type time restraint, makes for guaranteed laughs.

This is also a great chance for anyone considering application to the university's Creative Writing program to get a taste of what the program offers. And the self-produced chapbooks are always worth picking up.

Wednesday, Apr 27

5:30 - 8:00 p.m.

2nd floor - John Dutton Theatre

No registration required
