A national registered charitable organization committed to promoting literacy to the general public and to the private sector. The site includes information about public awareness, research, literacy facts and statistics, publications, and special events.

La fédération canadienne pour l'alphabétisation en français

A non-profit organization which strives to promote and deliver access to French literacy and to establish links between French literacy groups and their members. This site is only available in French.

Frontier College

Laubach Literacy of Canada

Charitable organization committed to raising national literacy awareness. This organization also provides trained tutors for people to improve their basic skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, numeracy and other life skills.

Movement for Canadian Literacy

This is a non-profit organization representing many literacy coalitions, organizations, and individuals from every province and territory.

National Adult Literacy Database

The federal government funding and policy body for literacy housed in Human Resources and Social Development Canada. Literacy Alberta

Literacy Alberta is a non-profit organization which links approximately 500 members involved in adult literacy and basic education. This group has many on-going literacy projects. Literacy Alberta’s mission is to be an advocate for the best interests of providers and facilitators of adult lifelong education and learning in Alberta. LA is a non-profit organization devoted to providing professional development, networking and organization for its members of literacy co-coordinators in Alberta.

Canadian Centre for Research on Literacy
