What is a Living Library?

A Living Library works like your local library, however, the books you borrow are "Living Books." Living Books are CPL volunteers who share stories about their personal experiences. These are real people with whom you can have a conversation.

As a "reader" you can learn more about the diversity in your community and ask questions you have always wanted to ask.  The Living Library helps people to understand each other better — one conversation at a time.

Living Books are available for checkout at Calgary Public Library, or to speak to groups, schools or organizations.
